When your nails feels soft and has white specks, it is a situation known as Plummer nail. It is a warning sign of hypothyroidism- problems with your thyroid gland. If you see the line lower on the nail, you have discovered the disease at early stages.

Quite often it happens that a person is caught with some allergic reaction to the nail polish, cleaner or other chemicals which are used on their nails.
